Our fourth and final field experience of the school year was a trip to the George Washington Carver National Monument in nearby Diamond, Missouri. The first activity our class participated in was a classroom/laboratory activity in which we learned a bit about Dr. Carver's answer to the sharecropping dilemma. Students wrapped up the lesson by quickly creating some "peanut milk" to demonstrate Carvers answer to a milk shortage in Africa. Hoggatteers were quite attentive during this 30-minute ranger-led lesson. | |
