Personification is when something that is not a person is given human properties, either in text or visual form. Uncle Sam, Lady Liberty, and Columbia are examples of this. Personification is one of my favorite forms of figurative language, beyond simile and metaphor. Try your hand at making a person out of something that is not a person. How will you describe it using personification? What would the literal version look like?
