| It's not supposed to be easy; it's supposed to be worth it! Why do so many teachers work to be mediocre and do things the same way all the time? It reminds me of an episode of The Cosby Show, in which one of the daughters presents her boyfriend to the family. Cliff, her father, tells the young man that the problem with the family's response to him was that the girl did not present him on a silver platter, but on a trash can lid. Similarly, presentation is important to the lessons we teach. |

We put education in a pill, but education is not a bitter pill to swallow. It is to be desired and savored. It should be spicy. It should be robust and meaty, not saturated with fats and sugars, but too often, we literally apologize to children for making them go through it. Why not change that? Why not mix things up, become the maverick teacher and making things start happening for your students.
