Outside the Classroom

The expectations for Hoggatteers are high ones.  We are expected to be the best - wherever we go - and we are often recognized for doing so.  We are respectful at all times, following the school's general procedures and bringing even higher standards of our own.

Mr. Hoggatt's more specific rules are listed below:

On the Playground
  • Use only soccer balls in the field.
  • Do not kick balls on the blacktop.
  • Sports shoes are required in the wood chip area.
  • Respect games and game spaces being used by others.
  • Specific games have specific rules.
  • If you don’t know the rules, don’t play the game.
  • Get in line to use the equipment.
  • Travel in a clockwise direction on the walking trail.
  • When walking the track, do not stop.
  • No gymnastics are allowed.
  • No physical contact or contact sports are allowed.
  • Stay away from “the line” unless a teacher puts you there.

In the Cafeteria
  • Enter the cafeteria respectfully and quietly.
  • Greet the cafeteria workers.
  • Always listen to the supervising teachers.
  • Stand a floor tile behind the person in front of you in line.
  • Respectfully thank the cafeteria workers.
  • Sit and talk quietly to the people around you.
  • Eat your lunch.  Do not waste time.
  • Avoid crude and mean talk.
  • Clean up after yourself and others.

  • Line up without noise.

In Assemblies
  • Enter respectfully and quietly.
  • Follow directions.
  • Sit on the floor - not on your feet or knees.
  • Face the speaker or performer.
  • Applaud appropriately - no hollering or whistling.

  • If appropriate, shake hands and thank any guest speakers and performers.
  • Depart the assembly respectfully and quietly.

On the Bus
  • Get on the bus respectfully and quietly.
  • Greet the driver.
  • Sit and remain seated while the bus is in motion.
  • Remain quiet.
  • No food or drink is to be consumed on the bus.

In the Computer Lab
  • Enter the lab respectfully and quietly.
  • Stay on the assigned task.
  • Work without talking to other students.
  • If you need help, raise your hand and wait for the teacher.

  • Log off of the computer and push in your seat when finished.

In the Hallway
  • There is no talking while standing or walking in line, unless an adult talks to you first.
  • Walk on one side of the hallway.
  • There should be no other form of movement other than walking.
  • Keep the line straight, with no gaps.

  • Keep an appropriate amount of space between yourself and the person in front of you.

In the Restroom
  • Enter and exit the restroom respectfully and quietly.
  • There is no talking in the restroom or lavatory areas.
  • Use the restroom appropriately and timely.
  • No horseplay is allowed.

  • Wash your hands - whether or not you used the restroom.
  • Use one squirt of soap.
  • Use one paper towel.
  • Get a drink if you would like one.
  • Line up and follow hallway procedures.
