S.O.S.

April 15, 1912 is the date of the sinking of the R.M.S. Titanic.  You may have read about the "unsinkable" ship.  You may even have seen the movie.  How much do you really know about the Titanic's maiden journey.  Research the great ship by using the links provided here.

I received this message and thought I could add a link to this page.  See the link in the message below:
I help out with a media/reading room where I'm helping [a] seventh-grader...out with a research project.  He's always been super interested in the Titanic so he wants to write about something related to that...

We've had a hard time finding non-spammy sites and yours gave us some awesome ideas for topics!  He had the great idea to send a personal thanks and we thought we could share some of his other favorites for fun!  He loves shows & documentaries about anything involving the sinking.  He also found this subject guide that covers a lot of different facts & figures:  figures:  Ship History:  The Titanic.   [I]t helped us narrow some ideas for topics and we thought it would be a great addition to your page.  [W]ould you consider adding it for us?  I'd love to show him that it's cool to be into this stuff!

I wanted to let you know I loved your SOS Ship page!

As a library media specialist, I've been handed the task of updating our media center's reference guides with the help of some student volunteers. We're currently working on our Maritime History guide. Your page led us to some great websites to check out, so the team and I wanted to make sure we thanked you...

And if it's not too much trouble, could you add another link to your page?

One of my student volunteers showed me this really cool timeline. It compares the size of passenger ships from 1831 to today.  This is it... [A Timeline of the World's Largest Passenger Ships].

I'd be delighted to show...my volunteer who found it! She was very excited to help me with this!
My gratitude to these individuals who have not only appreciated the work on our site, but have sought to help improve it with me.

Here are six images for us to observe.  What do you notice in each?  What do you wonder?
Each group should take one of the images to evaluate in more detail.  What do the images have in common?
