SalutationEvery morning, I attempt to meet my students at the classroom door. We look each other in the eye. We firmly shake each other hands. In the past few years, I have found that it benefits our class in several ways:
| ValedictionLots of teachers hold to the idea that greeting students at the door is beneficial, but I want to build on the success that we've established there. I wonder if I can add something new - the farewell. Is it possible to put a squelch on the last-minute scurrying at the end of the day? Mayhaps we could leave each other in a similar, respectful manner, once again shaking hands as individual personalities. In addition to the bullets for salutation, there are some added benefits:
