Grocery Shopping

Math in the real world includes managing and spending money responsibly.  Use the grocery advertisements below to work math problems (provided by the teacher).
  • Make your grocery list, calling for multiple packages or pounds of items that might be mentioned on the assigned advertisement.
  • If you are planning to invite guests for dinner, you will need enough food for everyone attending.  What is your menu for the get-together?  You certainly don't want to order to much food and waste money.
  • Your purchase must stay within the budget set by the teacher.
  • What text on the page might influence you to shop in the given store?  What other considerations come into play when choosing a store.
