Speech, speech!

During the summer, I get addicted to Turner Classic Movies (TCM).  It's a television channel that shows the old movies
that you can't get anywhere else, and while most of them are in black-and-white, I don't care.
These movies were made during a time when dialog mattered.  The storytelling did not rely on special effects and 3D.
No, these movies were designed to tell a story with an entirely different mood.

The TCM portraits below are pictures of actual actors in some of those classic movies.
Authors include dialog in their writing in order to move  a scene along and add reality.  In real life, people talk, so why not learn how to include dialog in your own writing?
  • Pick one of the following characters, and write a speech for him or her.
  • Pick two of the characters, and write a conversation for them.
