Disney's Imagination Campus 50 Teachers Celebration
In the fall months of 2021, I came across a contest announcement. It was saddled with the unwieldy title, Disney Imagination Campus 50 Teachers Celebration Contest. I knew there would be a lot of teachers across the country to enter such a contest, which advertised a prize that would bring the top 50 applicants to Disney World for three days at Disney Parks, along with attendance at the half-day Inspiration Conference.
In January of 2022, I received the notification that among the many applications, I was chosen to be one of the recipients. To be honest, I had forgotten about entering a creative lesson for consideration. The video (right) introduces Disney's Imagination Campus, which stresses the importance of creativity in education. I am intrigued to find out what I can learn about that topic, especially coming from a company like this one.
In 2005, I was nominated for Disney's American Teacher Awards (the same year that Ron Clark and Kim Bearden were recognized). I didn't win, but I have tried to follow Disney's "on-campus" attempts to educate. This chapter, almost 20 years later, will finally be the chance to experience this aspect of Disney firsthand. This page houses my anticipation, preparation, and attendance. |

One of the celebrants at this event was SCOTT KAZARIAN. SCOTT was the sole honoree from Hawaii. After the 50 Teachers Celebration, Scott invited me to be a guest on a podcast that he and two California teachers produce every week. My episode is linked in this article: Guesting on "Finding Our Tribe" Podcast. Enjoy the episode, entitled Finding Our Lion Wrestler.
