| The kickoff sesson for the summer's History Camp for the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History was earlier this week. As I happened to be in the neighborhood, I led this session on location at the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum. Along with Lynne Porter, the museum's Director of Educational Experience, we introduced around 100 students to the historical account of the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. This National Park is one that is dear to me, because I was teaching second graders in a nearby school when the bomb was detonated. |
Next week, we will virtually visit the Denali National Park and Preserve.
