“I think Mr. Hoggatt is the best person because every day he is very cheerful and just so happy. Every day in history class he lets us do a fun activity.
He is always so loving and so supportive. In math, if were confused he will go back through the whole lesson and talk it over. He is just so nice and loving. I love being in his class and he makes learning fun. He is the nicest person I’ve ever met.”
I keep telling people that I am "cheerful and happy", and "nice and loving", but they don't believe me. Maybe hearing it from a student will convince them. Those are the comments BROOKLYN sent to the Joplin Globe to nominate me for their H.O.O.T. (Honoring Our Outstanding Teachers) award, printed in yesterday's newspaper. I am honored - not because of the recognition, but because of the kind words Brooklyn expressed. I am happy that this is the relationship she feels we have in our classroom. It inspires me to keep going.
