This makes two years that I missed this event: last year because of stay-at-home rules and now this year. That's unfortunate since these two years must hold what were truly my favorite classes. That's not to slam other years, but those two years that followed the big tornado were quite memorable, and perhaps because of that, I really felt connected with my students. Seniors in 2019 had their fourth grade year cut short with the tornado, so two years ago, when they walked through the school, it was very emotional for me. I still had their work from the Friday before the storm which I gave to them after they walked through. We had just finished making posters about tornados and tornado safety (believe it or not). I hope we can see each other on another occasion. When guidelines are lifted, please visit the school once again. You will be welcome in my classroom. Once a Hoggatteer, Always a Hoggatterer! |
Until I received a message from the parent of a high school senior, yesterday, I had no idea that the seniors were going to parade through the school. I am utterly and completely heartbroken that this was a day that I was out of town with my daughter for an appointment. I didn't even realize we were hosting this event at all, this year.
