Electropolis is a land in the yet-to-be-built American Heartland Theme Park near Vinita, Oklahoma, that defies the regional theme of the park and yet fits with the overall look and spirit nevertheless. It is kind of an homage to bigger cities, looking to be an industrial area that celebrates invention, innovation, and progress. Inventions are on display and inventors are heralded for their hard work in spite of failure. |
Off to one side, bordering the Stony Point land, is a theater that appears to have dancing fountains. If that's true, it could be greatly enhanced by live performers. Countering the lighthouse in Stony Point is a tower here. This tower also lights up (at least at night) and looks like a drop tower ride. |
Surrounding the tower is part of the track to a coaster of some kind. The rollercoaster meanders over the sidewalk below and behind a large building. Someone has commented that the track looks like a launched Velocicoaster at Universal. At night, this area is well-lit like the St. Louis World's Fair, and this track forms the illusion that electricity is coursing through the city. |
Another ride appears to be an Intamin flat ride that weaves in and out of itself like a taffy kneading machine. Some of the area sports a Steampunk emphasis. I hope to see some educational and entertaining STEM-focused activities in this area. It's a definite possibility as I see a man demonstrating some electrical power in one of the concept art pieces. | |
