We see people texting, using social media like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or calling directly on their cell phones. In the past, of course, these electronic methods were not available, and people needed to be able to write neatly and clearly to communicate. Depending on the location of your recipient, it may take months for them to read your letter, and more months to get a letter back. Talk about a slow, drawn-out conversation! Still, there is reason to understand the parts of a proper letter, and you must admit, there is something special about getting a letter in the mail. |
