The weather was gorgeous in the Ozarks on the first day of the year, so Yours Truly went on a hike between preaching in the morning and preaching in the evening for the church in Washburn, Missouri. This was the first time back to Roaring River State Park in quite a while, having opted to hike in nearby Arkansas for the last few months (more about the hike up Devil's Kitchen Trail in coming days). The state park looked grand for January 1, and I spotted several people fishing (catch and release right now) from the banks of the spring fed river. This guy (right) pulled up and looked like he had things under control, so I took the opportunity to snap a few some pictures. I feel like some of these are simply beautiful. | For the dead of winter, it was awesome to appreciate the sound of families hiking the mountain trails and exploring around the trout hatchery and the river. |
