In a single lesson, Tuesday morning, students were able to define the term "Take a Leap". Their thoughts, recorded at left, made a pretty nice list. We then took their ideas and developed them into poetry, and I posted them on the bulletin board in the hall.
I am thankful that this class is able to write. They also unafraid of writing at some length. Their thoughts here were exactly the kinds of things teachers and parents like to hear from their children. We're hopeful that these kinds of thoughts transfer to actions.
