Which methods do we have access to? What do these look like?
Which of the methods used by Jesus (if any) can we not use today? Why?
- Culture - including language, clothing, food, and customs
- History - including Scripture and extra-biblical sources
- ARchaeology - including textual and material findings
- GEography - including geology, topography, and cartography
This section of our study will zoom in on Jewish culture as we learn about the methods of measurement (i.e., calendar, money), as well as trade.
Review
In the first section of our C.H.AR.GE. course, we learned about the topography of the “Holy Land” - the land itself. We learned more about what happened in specific locations of the map, tying everything to history, culture, and archaeology.
We begin the second phase of the course with a quick review of the geography of the land. Very quickly, let’s look at this map and add the verse references to each of the locations indicated.
