I couldn't have asked for a better mentor and neighbor as I began teaching. Not only do we share education-related ideals, but you helped me find my confidence in teaching. Looking back, I never imagined I would some day hope to become like some old man, but I wish that I can become even a fraction of the educator you are. I'm so excited for you as you begin your next adventure, but I sure am going to miss you. I can't express how thankful I am for your guidance. I will cherish it, and you, forever. Good luck, Hoggie! Don't forget us!
After school on Monday, my fourth grade team of teachers honored me with a cake reception. Special decorations adorned yet another room in the school, and I was overwhelmed. Careful not to become emotional, I accepted the gesture as best I could. Miss Graham gave me a card with some very touching sentiments. I loved it.
