Now that the regular school year is ending, I am set to begin teaching Summer School at one of our sister schools, during the month of June. While our own school is receiving some important renovations - the addition of a new gym/safe room, security precautions and remodeling at our main entrance/office area, updated restrooms, and carpet in the classrooms - I will be tackling the big job of teaching incoming fifth graders at Kelsey Norman Elementary.
It is always a challenge and enlightenment to teach in a "foreign" school and interact with students who have no preconceptions of my methods. The greatest challenge may be teaching in someone else's classroom, without immediate access to my own resources. Regardless, I think the four weeks will go by as quickly as gas prices go up.
