As we transition to a unit in geometry, pupils have had an interesting time getting used to using a new tool - a protractor. Even the teachers have to get used to using circle protractors instead of the typical half-circle that we've traditionally used. Students are realizing that angles are measured in full increments of 1 degree at a time, for a total of 360 degrees in a circle. They also now understand all of the fancy markings (numbers and lines). They are also developing skills in lining up the crosshairs, and making sure they are counting up from zero to record there measurements.
